Tom Fornelli Broke My Heart

It has taken me months to come forward with this post. The pain, too intense, the blubbering and crying, too frantic. But….Tom Fornelli Broke My Heart.

Let’s Go Back….Years Ago

Back when 108 was a tiny blog (but probably with more readership than now) Tom Fornelli was very kind to the fellas and I. He even agreed to do a digital interview under his second twitter account (specifically for White Sox chatter, so CBS didn’t get pissed at him) called Write Sox (featured above). In that era of the artist currently known as the X, Tom also helped us grow this brand by interacting with our Sox tweets and challenging Chorizy-E and I on Nick Madrigal (sorry Tom, we were right) during the White Sox rebuild 2.0 era.

All of that stuff earned me and the boys follows from his Write Sox twitter account, which was awesome!! Fast forward a couple of years and I am starting The Au Jus and I really wanted to get Tom on the show, because, well, he’s got the same fucked up sense of humor I do and he’s great at talking White Sox and College Football and Bullshit in general. He obliged, coming on, not once, not twice, but trees (this is Bridgeport) times.

The last appearance being a mere 4 months ago. That was just before this epic White Sox season was about to commence. This interaction earned me a followback from Tom’s main twitter account. A proud day for my online persona. He wasn’t the only big shooter aka D List Celeb that followed the ‘Loaf, but he was a personal fave and so I was very pleased with it. A most triumphant moment!

Tragedy Struck

*Insert Ominous Music*

Look, I don’t know quite when it happened, but I look up in the midst of the White Sox absolutely sucking eggs in April. And I see it. Not even sure how I stumbled upon it, but I was shocked and aghast.

The “Follows You” was gone. I was devastated! Not only was my favorite team crumbling, but my FAMOUS Elon Musk X app Follow Backs were disappearing into thin air as well. HOW COULD THIS HAVE HAPPENED?? What did I do? My mind starts racing….

Maybe Tom heard the audio recording of our EXCELLENT LIVE SHOW at Ramova on March 27th when I asked the Scarlata brothers (the proprietors of Punky’s Pizza the proud sponsor of The Au Jus) if I could make an Italian Racism? (They said “YES” btw)

It’s possible he didn’t take kindly to our fun-loving, encouragement to Dominic Fletcher

Maybe he heard me giving MSS the business about Illini basketball. Everyone knows they stink anyways, so it should matter. It’s possible he thought we were still feuding with James Fegan, but that’s also not true. Was it the thirst traps, the clever but misspelled retorts, the hand made excel graphics of likely immaterial White Sox statistics, the videos of me laughing celebrating a White Sox victory? I was confused and assumed I’ll never find out.

This Isn’t the First Time

Look, I’ve had some issues with people following me and then giving me the boot in the past on the bird app. The most famous in 108 circles is the saga with Codi Heuer. You can read about that HERE. In hindsight though, he was famous for being a ball player, not twitter famous and he was clearly leeching followers, before he “turned me out like a $2 ho” as Chorizy put it.

Steven Schirripa of Sopranos and Blue Bloods used to be a BeefLoaf followback guy. That one makes sense, as I love Sopranos and tweet about it often. He eventually nuked his account (or whoever runs it for him did) and that was that. Truthfully, who even needs a twitter account when you are that got-damned famous, but I enjoyed our times together.

John Cusack was a big BeefLoaf followback guy for almost a year, he even liked a bunch of my Jose Abreu tweets and interacted with me some on White Sox, but alas, he found out that I was frents with the infamous White Sox Dave and then this happened.

Hopefully his hairline isn’t in as bad of shape as Chorizy claims.

So Why Am I Crying Like a BITCH About This?

Look, I’m not. I am just expressing my feelings….with a little blubbering and crying. But remember, I’m in recovery, so I am allowed to do this with impunity.

This is just part of the healing process. Not everyday does a D List celebrity with witty takes and a perfect body unfollow you for reasons unknown, at an unknown time and then you finally notice. I feel emoting like this is probably good for the soul. Don’t you?

Have you been “UNFOLLOWED” by a huge X / Twitter Celeb? Hit me up in the comments or on the app. Let’s form a support group!!
