Championship Week Bets

A winless week last weekend with one push.  We are due for a big week with the conference championships this weekend.  We didn’t come all this way just to walk away from the table!  Just like the best teams in the country, now is the time when we perform at our best.

Our guest picker this week is our good friend Herb Lawrence from the CHGO Network.  Herb is the co-host of the CHGO White Sox podcast.  Check out their daily podcast for all things White Sox throughout the year!  You can also catch Herb on a panel at this year’s #108Day on January 7th at Reggie’s.

Brew Hand Bet One: MAC Championship Toledo vs Ohio (Ohio +2.5)

Ohio is on an absolute tear and have dominated the MACtion portion of their schedule.  On the other side of the field, Toledo has backed their way into the MAC championship game.  After starting out the season 2-3, Ohio is on a 7 game winning streak and have covered the spread in each of their last 9 games.  Ohio is a wagon, take the Bobcats and the points and don’t be afraid to sprinkle some on the money line as well!

Brew Hand Bet Two: ACC Championship Clemson vs North Carolina (Over 63.5)

Both Clemson and UNC had clinched a spot in the ACC Championship game weeks ago.  This was especially noticeable last week as each team lost rivalry games with an eye ahead to the title game.  North Carolina has one of the most exciting offense’s in the country, while also putting on display one of the worst defenses every week.  Clemson should be able to take advantage of this on offense.  Additionally, the Clemson defense of years past has looked vulnerable this season.  I expect this game to fly over the 63.5 total.

King Nom’s #108ing Bet: B1G Championship Purdue vs Michigan (Michigan -17)

The brutal regular season is behind me.  I lost more than I won, that’s for sure.  No time to dwell on that bullshit!  Championship games and bowl season is here and it’s time to win some money.  Michigan -17 to win the Big 10 Championship.  They are a complete team who went into Ohio State last week and put a hurting on the Buckeyes.  Purdue blows and is only in this game because they were the shiniest turd in the other division.  Michigan should win this game by 3 TD’s.  Go Blue!

Guest Picker- Herb Lawrence: AAC Championship UCF vs Tulane (Over 56.5)

Hello!  Championship Week is lit (as the kids say) and I’m excited to watch all these games but the most exciting game will probably be from the American Athletic Conference where the University of Central Florida travels to New Orleans to face the Green Wave of Tulane.  These teams faced each other just 3 weeks ago with UCF coming out on top 38-31 in the Big Easy.  I see the same high scoring affair as both offenses are efficient, especially in the red zone (both 93% in their last 3 games).  Bet the over 56.5, I’m on the fence with Tulane -3 but leaning Green Wave as they’ve been a monster ATS this season (10-2), but one of the games they failed to cover was the aforementioned loss to the Knights.  I hope I can make your pockets a little bigger.
