College Football Futures: 2022 Edition

As August winds down and September is around the corner, college football is finally arriving.  The long wait from January until now is finally over with Week Zero kicking things off this Saturday. Throughout this college football season I will provide two or tree of my favorite plays for the week.  Not only that, King Nom and Chorizy will be contributing a play of their own as well.  What better way to start the season off with some future bets for the season that I like the most:

BrewHand Bet One: Michigan State Under 7.5 wins (+110)

Mel Tucker did one heck of a job in year two with the Spartans.  However, after a closer look, I fully expect some serious regression from last years 11 win team.  For starters, Heisman Trophy finalist Kenneth Walker has departed for the NFL and that’s a level of talent that can’t be replaced.  Additionally, MSU was 4-0 in one possession games last year thanks to Walker.  Two of those games included squeaking by Northwestern as well as being taken to overtime at home by Nebraska.  Looking into their schedule for this year, they face much bigger road tests as well, having to go to Washington in week 3, a visit to the Big House in October, as well as ending the season in Happy Valley facing Penn State.  Even though Payton Thorne has been in sync with Jayden Reed since their days at Naperville Central, it won’t be enough to get to 8 wins in a conference as deep as the Big 10.

BrewHand Bet Two: Utah To Win NCAA Championship (+8000)

This is a bet that I absolutely love with a whole bunch of value.  Even as an Oregon Ducks fan I still went ahead and took this bet.  Lead by one of the best and most underrated coaches in the country, Kyle Whittingham returns a deep offensive line to go along with one of the best QB’s in the country in Cam Rising as well as returning feature back Tavion Thomas.  This offense can score in a hurry and not many teams will be able to keep pace.  Additionally, they took Ohio State down to the wire in last year’s Rose Bowl.  Ohio State happens to be one of the betting favorites to win the playoff this year.  Week 1 on the road at Florida will be an early test, however, this team will be prepared as they are one of the best coached teams in the country.  Go Utes!

King Nom Bet: Utah Over 8.5 Wins (-160)

Looking to build off the momentum of a Rose Bowl appearance last season, Utah brings back 15 starters. The offensive line should be the strong part of the team, especially the left side. As a fellow fat man who loves to see the physicality on display in the trenches, I absolutely love this aspect of the team. Schedule isn’t the easiest, but the wins are definitely out there to had for this Utah team. Smash the over 8.5!

Chorizy-E Bet: Northern Illinois Over 7 wins (+100)

I’m gonna be honest with you. I know nothing about college football. But I’m in Vegas right now and can bet on our Illinois teams, so I figured I would put in a bet for Northern Illinois superfan MySoxSummer. I bet over 7 wins for them. When I bet it, I assumed college football seasons are like 30 games. So I was confident. Then MSS told me it’s more like 12 or 13, so I’m a little less confident now. Either way, it’ll be fun to blame him when my $50 goes up in flames.
