Star Wars: Maul Shadow Lord – Episodes 3 & 4
This show continues to be excellent: ominous music, stunning visuals, lots of action, and of course interesting story arcs. So let’s dig into some of my takeaways from episodes 3 & 4.

Two Boots
Last week, I thought for sure that they were setting it up so we’d think Two Boots was weak and was gonna call the Empire, but then it not actually be Two Boots that does it. Nope, Two Boots sucks and they weren’t trying to hide that.

Maul and Devon
I’ve seen from some of the outlets I follow for Star Wars stuff that there is a lot about Maul feeling the need for an apprentice or that he is just generally lonely and needs companionship. I really don’t agree with this. His discussion with Devon is purely manipulative. I think this shows that he learned more under Darth Sidious than just chopping people up. When he said he needs her help, he does. But he needs her help as a tool, as a weapon, because he realizes he is not strong enough on his own to go head to head with Sidious or probably even Vader. He’s well aware of the Empire’s Jedi Hunters.
The Empire is Coming
Speaking of the Empire’s Jedi Hunters aka the Inquisitors, they are on their way at the end of episode 4. This is how Maul will take the next step in manipulating Devon. She and Daki are not strong enough to take on 2 Inquisitors. I can see Maul allowing them to be attacked, letting the Inquisitors do the dirty work of taking out Daki, and then he can come and save Devon. Should be an exciting fight. Then, what’s she left with? Being on her own or following Maul…
Then Maul can get back to taking over some more syndicates. #RIPIP Marg Krim
