The Best Spicy Garlic Hummus Recipe by MSS
3 years I wrote a blog about things I am a slut for. You should read it.
But today I need to list one more thing that I am a complete slut for…spicy garlic hummus. Back in the day, Bigs Sunflower Seeds used to have a spicy garlic flavor that was crazy delish. They stopped making them and that made me sad, but I have moved on. But my love of all things spicy garlic never moved on.

I love hummus too. Hummus is a perfect dip for your veggies and it’s basically veggies, so you get double the veggies. It’s great and provides that fiber to get you moving! I eat tons of hummus and only the Costco sized tub will do for your boy. The problem? It’s basic bitch hummus.

Don’t get me wrong, Pita Inn’s Original Hummus is solid, but your boy needs flavor. Add in irregular trips to Costco, your boy had to make some adjustments to get his hummus fix more regular. After a simple google search for the best homemade hummus recipe, and some slight adjustments, I have created the best spicy garlic hummus recipe….ever.
Now, I’ll say this, if you don’t like garlic or spice, maybe this isn’t gonna be your jam. If you like it, but don’t love it, maybe you should half the spice and the garlic. You can always up both, so starting low (like recreational drugs)might be the best call. If you love the spice and garlic tho, follow this.

MySoxSummer’s Spicy Garlic Hummus (~32oz)
- 2 – 16oz Cans of Chickpeas (Garbanzo Beans, Save the Aquafaba)
- 1/2 Cup Lemon Juice
- 1/2 Cup Tahini
- 6 Tablespoons of Aquafaba
- 4 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
- 4 Teaspoons Of Minced Garlic
- 3 Teaspoons Of Red Pepper
- 1 Teaspoon Of Cumin
- 1 Teaspoon Of Salt
- A Dash of Paprika
Throw all that in the blender (I got a Vitamix) and mix it till its’s smooth as peanut butter. Scoop it out of the blender and put into an airtight container and you’re set on hummus for a week (at least). I have found having it on hand reduces me eating garbage snacks and it’s simple to make. You can eat it on your favorite veggies, crackers or even pita bread. Goes great in Mediterranean Bowls too!
Get your ass in the kitchen and make this ASAP!
