MSS reviews “Unlimited Love” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers!
A few months ago we cancelled our Sirius/XM subscription as we were cutting some minimal costs (and Stern really wasn’t as entertaining to me anymore) so my terrestrial radio listening has gone way up. I listen to all sorts of stations including 93 WXRT. They play a great mix of new and old plus a great “alternative” vibe. Anyways, I had been hearing a RHCP song that I wasn’t sure if it was new or old…so on a #GymDay I decided to listen to the NEW RHCP album “Unlimited Love” and live tweet my review. Here we go!
Black Summer is classic RHCP. Loved the vibe.
Back in the 90’s you’d be hard pressed to find a hornier band than the Peppers. Guys were always naked, wearing socks on their junk, performing naked, you know…all that horny ass behavior. And they made some great fuck-jams. Most notably (to me anyways) Sir Psycho Sexy off their hit album Blood Sugar Sex Magic. I mean, who wrote hornier lyrics than this?

Anthony Kiedis is a man of many talents, not only can he sing like an angel he can also rap pretty good! Even at 59 he is still going! It’s fucking impressive. The other guys in the band are also pretty talented. Flea plays a mean trumpet, and Chad Smith moonlights as famous actor Will Ferrell. John Frusciante came back from the deep depths of heroin addiction to get clean and still slay on the guitar.
And there you have it! RHCP made a record that still holds up to the standards the set many years ago with Blood Sugar Sex Magik. 17 songs seems like a lot, but it went pretty quickly TBH. As lame as it sounds, if you like RHCP you’ll like their new offering!
