Kanye West – My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

First time you heard it

I was only 13 when this album came out. I have two older brothers who are big fans of Kanye so I always heard Kanye playing around the house or in the car with them growing up. I remember the first song I heard on the album was runaway, I watched Kanye perform it on the VMA’s in 2010. By the time I was in high school that’s when I really got into music and the first time I listened to the album from start to finish. So, I was probably 14 or 15 when I fully appreciated this album and this was the album that really got me into Kanye, as he is my favorite artist of all time.

How often do you listen to it?

In its entirety I probably only listen to it once every couple of months. But there’s a couple songs like All Of The Lights and Devil In A New Dress that are on my daily Spotify playlists I listen to.

Why is this your favorite album?

This is my favorite album because there isn’t a dull moment from when the album starts and ends. The production of this album is just *chef’s kiss*. The songs all have beats that perfectly match the stories being told and each song has a different emotion behind it. The lyrics, the features on this album, everything about it I just can never get enough of it.
