Internet Archeology: Keyboard Cat

1984: A guy named Charlie Schmidt made a video of his cat Fatso playing a keyboard.

2007: Schmidt uploads the video to YouTube

2009: Brad O’Farrell, with Schmidt’s permission, uses the video at the end of a blooper video to “play them off” like a Vaudeville act. Play him off, keyboard cat was born.

Shortly after: Most of the internet does exactly what O’Farrell did with widely varying amounts of compassion.
