White Sox ZiPS – 3 Pitcher Observations

If you missed my White Sox ZiPS 3 Hitter Observations, go check that out right HERE. I’m not going through the whole pre-amble where I explain projections and such. You probably don’t give a fuck anyways, and won’t really listen to how they work, so why re-rack that shit. Here’s all you need to know. You can find ZiPS projections HERE and they are created by this fella below.

Dan Szymborski doing….uh, I have no idea

Now on to the pitchers…..

Bernardo Flores Jr. = Reynaldo Lopez = Dylan Cease???

Imma be honest, I was most definitely NOT expecting this shit. I got high hopes for Dylan Cease even if he can’t hit the broad side of a barn. Reynaldo Lopez was good (kinda) before and I be thinking that Ethan Katz is going to return him to form. Low and behold ZiPS believes Bernardo Flores Jr. to basically be their equal. If this is based in reality, the White Sox really don’t need any back of the rotation starters, just throw that handsome glassed geek out on the hill and let him slowball the opponent to death.

Zack Burdi has lost his 1st round luster

Picture from the Chicago Tribune

We aren’t that far removed from seeing absolutely eye-popping comparisons and projections tied to Zack Burdi and now ZiPS is basically projecting him to be the worst reliever on the staff. Brutal! I hope his individual projection actually got some Cheeto dust lodged in the microchip and misfired and we’ll actually get 1st round pedigree Zack Burdi that was destined to be a young Craig Kimbrel.

Lucas Giolito is the best pitcher on Earth!!!!

KANSAS CITY, MO – JUN 08: White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper (99) congratulates Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito (27) on his pitching performance during a Major League Baseball Game between the Chicago White Sox and the Kansas City Royals, on June 08, 2019, at Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City, Mo. That would be a WILD season!!! Giolito hasn’t made 30 starts since his 2018 season, which we no longer speak of. I think I can comfortably emote for White Sox nation in saying, I’m ready for our tall, handsome king to be the best pitcher in baseball.

Got any thoughts on the White Sox pitchers ZiPS projections, holler at me on the twitter machine.
