Christmas Eve Is Superior to Christmas Day | 12 Days of #108Mas

As we roll into another Christmas, a thought comes to mind that I’ve had for a lot of my adult life: Christmas Eve is superior to Christmas Day. Maybe as a child I would have thought differently. But as an adult, I don’t even think it’s close to be honest.

Christmas Eve is typically when I do mostly nothing in the morning but relax, watch whatever sports are on the tv, and slowly get ready for the evening’s festivities. Probably have a few Christmas cookies here and there, maybe get into my first cocktail of the night. Then I head off to meet up with my family for dinner and drinks. We play some games, we watch some sports, some xmas movies. It’s awesome, and best part is that I have tomorrow off of work.

Now Christmas Day rolls in and yes, presents are nice. The early dinner is cool, as I am an old and not opposed to eating a huge meal at 3pm. But after that, the day is kinda done. You’re watching some basketball or maybe some football, but there is that itch in the back of your mind. Damn, I gotta work tomorrow. It’s like Sunday Scaries times a thousand. Because not only do you gotta work, everyone has been holding back all their rage trying to be nice for the holidays. But that shit is over! Someone will get the full fury of that asshole at work. Will it be you? Will it be right in front of you and you gotta pretend you don’t even notice? It’s not good, not good at all.

Merry Christmas!
