2018 Team Issued / Ken Griffey Jr / White Sox Jersey For Sale!
As many of you know, I sell stuff on eBay. But did you know I also buy stuff on eBay? I do! I support the platform when it makes sense. Recently I bought a sweet vintage United Airlines mechanic jacket with removable vest. It was too good of a deal to pass up, plus it was in my size (fat guy). So while I was looking at some game used White Sox items, this bad boy came across my search!
Authentic Majestic Chicago White Sox Ken Griffey Jr Team Issued Game Jersey 48XL

OMG. An AUTHENTIC Ken Griffey Jr. team issued jersey for the low price of only $299! I took a look at the other pictures and it seems to have all the right tags.

The wash tag is correct, showing that it’s made in the USA. Something authentic will have this tag, nothing that is a replica so that’s good. And in recent years there is another tag that is placed on the jersey for identification purposes. Most recently they have added the players name, but the original Majestic ones had the year, size and set. And shockingly this Griffey has that tag too.

So this is looking like a steal. HOF’er, team issued jersey, right tags, hey wait….does that say 2018? It sure fucking does. It’s a road jersey, size 48, S1 from 2018. Now, I do some drinking, but am I forgetting when Jr was playing on the 2018 White Sox? 2 years AFTER he was inducted into the Baseball Hall Of Fame! He’d have been 47 years old too! Pretty goddamn amazing if you ask me!
But that’s not all. In addition to the road jersey, this seller also has a Stars and Stripes version the 2018 team wore for the 4th of July holiday! It’s a real beaut Clark!

Shockingly his size went down in this special jersey from 48 to 46.

This is why you need to check all the pictures on eBay and use your brain when you are looking at “game used” or “team issued” items. Jr played for our beloved Sox in 2008. He retired from the game in 2010. What’s especially terrifying is that the seller has both of these jerseys listed TWICE and at different prices. Also terrifying is the amount of people actually watching this, thinking it’s a legit listing. Just look…

And –

So if you’re one of those watchers thinking about buying this fake jersey, consider yourself warned. Despite me reporting both jerseys and both listings, eBay has allowed them to remain up. It’s weird that a seller that’s sold 1,100 items and has a 100% positive feedback rating would keep these items up, risking his credibility for a few hundred dollars. He’s sent me many offers on them too, which I have declined but also responded with “You know this is fake right?”
For a platform that is struggling to stay afloat with so many resale apps being released each year, I would think they would take some action here after it’s been reported. They haven’t YET, but I felt it was my duty to let our fans know about this bogus jersey on the ‘bay. Do better eBay.
Stay safe out there collectors.

These may have been for a first pitch or other event he was supposed to be at.
