Star Wars: What are nerds already super angry about with the Acolyte?
The Acolyte premieres on Disney Plus June 4th. The latest trailer has the internet abuzz about a certain weapon and as noted in this video, people were mad before they even saw it. Let’s see what has angered them.
Lightsaber Whip
In the High Republic books there is a character named Vernestra Rwoh and she carries a lightsaber whip or lightwhip, apparently even that is sparking debate. But there are already folks out there saying “if that existed back then, why don’t we see them in the shows/movies that happen after that?” Well, probably visual effects are much better now. Or maybe too many padawans cut there own limbs off (that’s Darth Vader’s job) trying to learn to use them. Though I have to ask, who cares? Can’t we have something cool as hell and just enjoy it? I wanna see her cut someone’s head off with that thing!

No Sith for 1000 years
Another thing in the trailer is what appears to be a Sith.

Are they mad because the mask has “bring out the gimp” vibes? Or are they mad that it looks too Knights of Ren-ish? No, they’re mad about this line in the prequels.

There are plenty of reasons they’d believe this even if there is a Sith in this show. Hopefully it’s because that gimp suit maniac kills everyone that sees them. In any case, don’t be mad that Ki-Adi-Mundi says this. Just be happy he’s one of the top choices of which Jedi was packing the most meat.

Twins!
The latest trailer seems to show that the person that’s been thought to be the villain the whole time may have a twin. People are of course mad that a mystery would use a trope like twins. If they’re giving the shit away in the trailer, it probably ain’t gonna be a big reveal. So just calm down and remember that some of the greatest cinema ever made has included twins.
