It’s Peanut Butter Jelly Time

As many of you already know, I have a strong passion for Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches.  The PB&J has brought me great joy dating back to my early childhood days eating the world’s greatest sandwich for lunch.  (Team Strawberry here)  What’s another thing that I love?  Craft beer of course!  Imagine what could happen if those two worlds collided.  Thanks to Grand Armory Brewery in Grand Haven, Michigan I was able to have the best of both worlds!  

Grand Armory recently shared a post on their Instagram page that highlights two of their year round flagship beers.  Mother Schmuckers is a raspberry ale, one that I have always enjoyed especially on a hot summer day.  Nutter Your Business is Grand Armory’s take on a peanut butter stout.  Combine the two for a tasty PB&J?  Don’t mind if I do!  Presenting: “Nutter Your Business Mother Schmucker”

As I combined the two beers, I naturally began by pouring the Nutter Your Business first, just like I would be making my PB&J.  I go with a heavier pour of the stout as I like to have more peanut butter on my sandwich and then go lighter on the jelly.  I then pour in the Mother Schmuckers to get the raspberry jelly taste added in.  I really enjoyed the combination here and could definitely taste the resemblance to the ageless wonder that is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  The one thing I will change for the next time I have this combined beer is that I will go more half and half of each beer so as to try to pick up more raspberry notes.  PB&J in beer form is a very challenging task, however, Grand Armory did an outstanding job with combining these beers.  Find the beers anywhere in Michigan and enjoy the classic sandwich in beer form.  Mix and match to your preference as well.
