Is SoxFest Back for 2024?!?!?

White Sox Charities are in the middle of their annual Sox Serve Week, it’s a great week that shines a light on all the good things that the White Sox organization does off the field. Check them out here.

Christine O’Reilly, White Sox Charities Executive Director was on with Chuck and Ozzie talking about what prizes they had for the donors and she dropped a little nugget. You miss it? Watch this…

Their selling point for this stool is something to sit on during the lines at SoxFest? Is SoxFest BACK? Ozzie Guillen being a man of the people then asks Christine if they are in fact gonna have SoxFest in 2024. He even added that the last time he talked to Jerry it didn’t seem like they were gonna do it. Christine then says she “hopes” they do it. But that’s not where this story ends.

Christine then goes on to say that it’s “too early to announce it” and that Ozzie was gonna get her “into trouble” with long time 108-supporter Brooks Boyer because “it hasn’t been announced yet.” Ozzie then does what Ozzie does best and announces that SoxFest is back for 2024. Sounds like it’s on folks.

Now could they be teasing us with this news to get us to buy a tailgate set? Maybe, but seems like they wouldn’t use something like SoxFest. They know the POWER of SoxFest. And to be fair the way Christine chooses her words makes it seem like it’s a done deal already, just waiting to announce it. That’s what I am going folks, yep, I am declaring SoxFest back for 2024.

Yep, I am officially saying it’s back so get ready folks! You gotta have a plan at Soxfest. Make sure to plan out that snarky question that you’ll lob at Rick Hahn when he’s on the main stage with Jason Benetti! You know the one, “Why should I continue to support this team?” or “What are you doing to win back fans after the collapse of this rebuild in 2023?” There are better people to make these questions and I can’t wait to hear it!

Also get ready for long ass lines and maybe some slight disappointment when you don’t get who you want, to sign what you want, where you want. And also get ready for that one loud jerk that we all know from FB to speak up and ask “WHY Don’t season ticket holders get free VIP access?!?!?” Never mind that the jag would just sell the passes anyways and really just likes to complain. Don’t forget that, never forget that.

But the biggest thing that you need to get ready for is remembering that the players that we complain about on a daily basis are just like us, regular ol’ people. You’ll be face to face begging for a signature from a guy who you’ve criticized his WAR. Or questioned his toughness. Or wondered if he’s only here for the “money”. Yep, that’s the guy you’ll spends tons of money on to get his signature on a ball, picture, bobblehead to show off in your man cave (or she shed). So gear up and get ready!

Now, since SoxFest hasn’t been around since 2020, we here at the 108 have organized #108Day LIVE! that has become THEE meet-up for WST in the winter. Before it was #108Day LIVE!, it was just a regular ol’ SoxFest after-party. Will we have 2 events now? HELL YES (we will consider it)! Cause 1 is fun but 2 is really, really fun.

So we’ll see how it shakes out over the next few months, but let’s just look forward to SoxFest ’24 that we can complain about in the new year. Can’t wait for the free stuff and all the complaining!
