Confidence Pool: Final Standings
As I was perusing the pools at Splash Sports, I saw one that looked like it would almost certainly have an overlay. I was the 550th entrant and there is a guaranteed payout based on having a thousand players. The pool ended up with 680 entries. I grabbed 2 spots. One that I’ll actually think about the picks and the other, that will be the squarest strategy possible. I’ll order this each week in order of the odds provided, taking only the favorites. In a pool that pays the top 100, we’re gonna see if this dumbass strategy gets me into that range. I’ll be sharing so you can follow along.
Last Week’s Result
Despite the whacky end to the season in week 18, we pulled through and ended in 34th place with the entry that picked only favorites and in order of their odds. This was good enough to be profitable even though the secondary entry could not crack the top 100. The result is that we put $200 in and are paid out $400. A nice $200 profit in a year where favorites dominated.
