Uncle Frank Home Alone Conspiracy Theories | 12 Days of #108Mas
I was initially going to write a blog about deleted holiday movie scenes after I heard about this one from Elf which was unsurprisingly kept out of the film, since Buddy absolutely destroys multiple elves:
But then I ran into this SlashFilm article with a scene from Home Alone and it sent me down one hell of a rabbit hole. The scene on its own is weird as hell. Uncle Frank pantses Kevin like he’s gotdamn Michael Jackson or something. But in the article, they link to a theory that Uncle Frank is the criminal mastermind behind it all. The full article is here: https://www.mandatory.com/culture/1045520-uncle-frank-behind-everything-home-alone
The highlights are:
- Frank purposely sent Kevin into a rage to separate him from the family the night before they left
- He cut the power to cause the chaos
- He got the kid from next door to come over and mess up the head count
- He steals the glasses from the airline knowing it’ll be on his brother to pay for
- He doesn’t give a shit about Kevin being left behind
- And most importantly, once all the calls to the family at home are done, he’s still on the phone. The writer believes he’s calling in the heist to Harry and Marv
But why? Why let your brother’s house get robbed? There is some easy calls like the guy is just cash strapped and jealous. But there are plenty of theories that Peter McAllister is in organized crime. So maybe Frank was passed over like Fredo or maybe he felt justified stealing from a criminal. But why let Kevin perish in all of this? It could be explained away by saying that Frank is simply a dead inside piece of shit, but we’re here for craziness. Here’s a theory that Kevin is his son. It doesn’t give an explanation for why he’d so willingly let him die in this accident, but having a kid with your mobster brother’s wife probably causes irreparable damage to your noggin. This is like Furio times a thousand.

Needless to say, there is a lot to unpack here, so feel free to hit those links and travel down the same rabbit hole. If you want some other xmas movie theories, including a different Home Alone one, check this out:
