My White Sox Wishlist | 12 Days of #108Mas

The Chicago White Sox are rolling into the 2025 season with the hopes of getting under 100 losses for the first time since 2022. To do that, they’ll need to improve by 22 games over last season. And as sad as that seems, it also seems unplausible at this point. So being the realist that I am, I have some simple wishes that I think the White Sox front office can grant.

Sign a Catcher

I know the Sox just traded for Kyle Teel and I know all your hopes and dreams are tied up in Edgar Quero. But it’s possible both of them need more time in the minors and as noted there isn’t really a reason to rush them. Additionally, you can’t have enough catching depth. What I don’t want to have to stomach as someone still going to games and still watching from home, is more Chuckie Robinson. There are veterans out there to get, so please do so.

Name Plates

This ain’t even an ask of the on-field product. But for the thousands? hundreds? of us that have stuck around as season ticket holders, you should emblazon the seats with our name of choice. Is this helpful to you the reader? Probably not. But I’m putting together the wish list and this shit is for me.

Sign Multiple Starting Pitchers

The Sox traded Garrett Crochet and whether you agree with this or like the return, you’d probably say that they’re now extra thin at Starting Pitcher. Here’s the current rotation according to Roster Resource:

I included their options and service time to show that they can all be sent to the minors and that not 1 of them hasa full year of big league service under their belt. This is a team badly in need of veteran starting pitchers. Whether it be a guy to eat innings, an injury-prone lottery ticket guy, a flamed out former prospect, or someone from MySoxSummer’s neck of woods, they gotta bring in a few guys.

Sell The Team

Look, I know this is a worn out saying throughout the fanbase, but this is not for me. I’m thinking of Jerry here. Why go through the pain of starting a new TV channel, losing a stadium site to the city’s MLS team, watching the decline of RSNs lower the value of franchises, rebuild a team only to be ready for a lockout? It seems like now is the time to sell. Show those division rival Twins that you can attract more buyers and fetch far more money than they can! Let’s do it!
