Why 50 Cent’s “Window Shopper” Is a Holiday Song | 12 Days of #108Mas

The Origin of “Window Shopper”

This song is from his biopic movie “Get Rich or Die Trying” soundtrack produced by C. Styles and Sire. It samples Bob Marley’s “Burnin & Lootin”. Released in November 2005, a pretty good year if you ask me. And November is right in the holiday season.

Why It’s Essential 50 Cent

This song is without a doubt an essential in his catalog. Fif was so good at the time cause he appealed to all audiences. I was a big fan of his mixtapes and his beefs with Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, and even his old artist The Game. Catchy hooks and rhymes got him so many hits off classic beats, not just Dr Dre and Em but others like Hi-Tek, Buckwild, and Timbaland to his in-house guy Sha Money XL.

Why “Window Shopper” Feels Like the Holidays

The beat just has this jingle and the hook is catchy, ’cause let’s be honest we all window shoppers going to some southside mall back then. Now most of us just use our phones, but it’s still window shopping. I myself am guilty of it sometimes.

My first time listing to this we was hanging out in my friend’s car and she wanted to listen to Christmas music and this was playing I told her “This is Christmas music!” just to hear the raps.

In Conclusion

If you don’t think this is a Christmas song you don’t probably have any fun during the holidays. When this song was hot I was acting a fool at Ford City or Ridge Mall with my friends ’cause I had a part time job in high school.
