The worst thing for White Sox watchability happened

Last night, in a very winnable game against the team the White Sox have modeled themselves after, Luis Robert roped a double. Normally, something we’d be excited to see. However as he rounded first base, he was obviously injured. He struggled his way to second base safely, but was immediately removed from the game.

Luis Robert Injury

It’s never good when your best player gets injured. For some teams, it can hurt World Series dreams or playoff hopes. For the White Sox, it may be the last straw for casual fans that were still tuning in. Sure, maniacs like myself and possibly even you, the reader, will still tune in. It’s an addiction at this point and there are still minor bits I want to examine. But other than Garrett Crochet starts, how do you ask someone to watch what this will be? A new stadium in the cool part of town (closer to where I live that is) wouldn’t even help. Not even a polish sausage covered in brisket would.

However, if you’re a crazy person like me, you might be asking what I am going to be watching for the next few weeks:

Who will play center on a regular basis?

There is really not a backup CF on this team. But there are a bunch of guys that can fake it.

I really hope the choice isn’t to go with Kevin Pillar unless they’re facing a tough lefty. I want to see how Dominic Fletcher handles center. For Fletcher, if he’s reasonably good out there, he raises his floor to major league 4th outfielder. If he can hit this season on top of that, it raises his bar to possibly being a starter moving forward.

Again, for the casual fan, I am 100% sure they don’t give a fuck. But I’m a guy who has already watched every Star Wars youtube video on the internet, so I am staring at my other obsession, the Chicago White Sox.

Who will be a run producer?

There are two guys that really, really need to step up here. Andrew Vaughn and Yoan Moncada. If these two fellas do not deliver, I have no idea how the Sox will score runs on a daily basis. It was already a rough ride with Luis, but without, I gotta see something from these guys. Thus far Yoan has looked good, but can he stay consistent? Can he hit some home runs? Vaughn on the other hand is without an extra base hit this season. Sure it’s early, but you’re the MFing first baseman. Your main job his “hit ball far”!
