Me and BeefLoaf discuss entering a survivor pool almost every year and then we never enter one. Finally, this year, maybe because the Jets are too good for him to do his Jets ML bit, we entered one. Joe Ostrowski put one up on Splash Sports, so we felt even more compelled.
Going into the week we discussed a number of teams, but we had narrowed it down to the Vikings and Eagles. Both were going against a back up QB. Others on the short list were the Chiefs and the Giants. We wanted to keep the Chiefs in our back pocket for later matchups and the Germany game scared us off of the Giants.
We eventually settled on the Eagles, but our opponent went with the Giants. The Giants/Panthers game was insanely tense and went into overtime. The Panthers pulled it out after a fumble in overtime from the Giants and an old friend Eddie Pineiro field goal. Did I work up an absolute lather of a sweat just from watching that game? Yes I did.
For me and BeefLoaf, it was on to an espresso martini contest with Quernzy and Mrs BeefLoaf for the duration of the awful Bears game. Then we headed to Beef’s house very caffeinated and slightly toasted to watch the Eagles.
And oh baby, the Eagles came through for us!!!
