College Football Week 5 Bets
Last week was a brutal for the blog as we went 0-3 and got shutout for the first time this season. This is the last time we will speak of week 4 as we are onto week 5. Who’s ready to bounce back?
Brew Hand Bet One: Texas State vs James Madison (James Madison -22)
James Madison is the new kid in class as this is their first year as an FBS program. Fresh off of a big win over Appalachian State last week they now face a Texas State team that is inferior to them in all 3 phases of the game. James Madison will continue to roll through the “Fun Belt” conference and boat race Texas State.
Brew Hand Bet Two: NC State vs Clemson (NC State +6.5)
These two teams are very familiar with each other as conference rivals. Last season NC State beat Clemson in overtime. Clemson is looking for payback at home, however, this isn’t the same Clemson defense of years past as we saw last week against Wake Forest. The Wolfpack have just as strong of an offense as Wake Forest, led by ACC preseason player of the year, Devin Leary. They also boast a much stronger defense than Wake Forest that will give the Clemson offense fits. Clemson won’t be able to rally their offense like last week. This game will come down to the wire and I wouldn’t be surprised if NC State pulls off the upset for the second straight year.
King Nom’s #108ing Bet: Wake Forest vs Florida State (FSU -7)
Short and sweet this week as I am hungover in San Diego (Go Sox!). I’m buying into what Florida State has working for them so far and I think Wake Forest drops off a bit after giving it all they had last week against Clemson. It’s a home game for the Noles and they are looking to stay undefeated. Plus if this doesn’t hit we can all just blame Svo.
