This has been fun. Thanks to Beefloaf for indulging me with the invitation to share this with everybody. Now, let’s get this over with.
Los Lobos – Del Este De Los Angeles: I love everything this band produces, this record is all Spanish language folksongs done in impeccable Los Lobos style. It’s unique and amazing. Get this record!
Talking Heads – Stop Making Sense: One of the best concert movies ever. I think it’s still playing at The Fine Arts Theater for like 1,000 weeks straight.
Bob Mould – Workbook: Get-Listen-Now! heck, get Bob’s entire catalog, it fookin’ ROCKS!
Steve Earle – Copperhead Road: if for nothing else, just for the song with The Pogues!
Beastie Boys – Paul’s Boutique: Shake Your Rumpa! That’s all.
Various Artists – ON XRT Live From the Archives Volume 17: This CD is always in the radio of my sweet ’09 Pontiac G6, and I’m good with that until the end of time.
Lucinda Williams – World Without Tears: She’s another artist who’s entire catalog is fabuloso, but I choose this beauty for my list.
Muddy Waters – Muddy “Mississippi” Waters Live: A superior live double record with great guest artists and endless gems from Muddy.
REM – Fables of the Reconstruction: Hey, Whatevs. Listen to it, a lot!
Matthew Sweet – Girlfriend: From start to finish, an unforgettable record. #FunFact The loudest concert I’ve ever been to was Matthew Sweet at The Riv. My ears are still ringing. LITERALLY!
Bonus John Hiatt – Perfectly Good Guitar: He may have better in his catalog, but this is my list. Do your own list
Bonus 2 Social Distortion – Social Distortion: “A broken nose and a broken heart, an empty bottle of gin.” hits repeat
Last Bonus The Monkees – More of The Monkees: You don’t like The Monkees? Too bad, it’s my list, SCREW YOU!
That’s it, we’re done. I almost made it only 50, but I told you, lists are hard. Of course all these albums sound better on vinyl. Thanks for listening.
