Mailman Jack’s Nifty Fifty Volume 4

80’s Records

(Cuz it’s my list)

My wonderful wife tells me that I have a lot of 80’s records, she’s right.

The Cure – Staring at the Sea/Standing on a Beach: Whatever you call it, this compilation puts the black eyeliner on my eyelids. Great stuff.

Something Wild – Movie Soundtrack: David Byrne/Oingo Boingo/Fine Young Cannibals/UB40/Jimmy Cliff etc. etc.

The Go-Go’s – Beauty and the Beat: They’re definitely a real band and they definitely rock!

Pixies – Doolittle: The more you play this record, the more you’ll find something new to love about it. Debaser would be a great song for a closer to exit the bullpen and walk to the pitcher’s mound.

The Police – Synchronicity: I probably could’ve picked any album in their catalog(they’re all great) I picked this one because I’m the King of Pain.

Pretenders – Pretenders: Probably one of the greatest debut albums in rock ’n roll history.

David Bowie – Let’s Dance: It’s David Bowie and Stevie Ray Vaughn, Hell Yes!!!

Prince – Purple Rain: Just ask Wally$ how great this album is.

The Replacements – Pleased to Meet Me: “Ashtray floors, dirty clothes, and filthy jokes.” Paul Westerberg is a lyrical genius.

Midnight Oil – Diesel and Dust: It is arguably one of the greatest albums to come out of Australia. Shout out to @Aussiesoxfan

Bonus Cyndi Lauper – She’s So Unusual: you know that you know every word to a lot of these songs, it’s a great album.

next up, Jack’s hodgepodge!
